All around us, there is need. A homeless veteran … a young mom struggling to make ends meet … a senior citizen weighed down by medical expenses … a child without a warm winter coat. And, the need is growing every day.
But Central Iowans can be counted on. We rise to the challenge. We give back. And now, we have a day to celebrate our generosity, called Give Back Des Moines.
On Saturday, May 22, the Give Back Des Moines event will raise awareness and increase support for greater Des Moines area not-for-profit organizations, who help those in need. Give Back Des Moines is a campaign centered around a day of community giving, education and celebration.
Give Back Des Moines is a community campaign created, organized and executed by the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute (GDMLI) Class of 2009-2010.
